Overview:
AtoB's purchase restriction features give you greater control on how your cards are used.
The restrictions include:
- Card spend rules and limits
- Setting card spend limits for each transaction, per day, and per week
- Setting operational hours
- Merchant restrictions
- Allow all spend at a merchant
- Block all spend at a merchant
- Category-based purchase restrictions
- Configuring allowed purchase categories beyond fuel
Restrictions can be set on both a global level and tag level, allowing you to customize your spend controls, and card spend limits can be set on an individual card.
Card Spend Rules & Limits
Cards can be set with spend limits per transaction, per day, and per week. Spend limits are strictly enforced and influence the amount allowed per authorization.
Spend limits can be set on an individual card basis, or configured on the Spend Policy for a Tag. If a card is assigned to a Tag, the Spend Policy of the Tag applies to the card and any individual limits are overridden.
Operational Hours
The ‘Operational hours’ feature defines the hours during which the card can be used. Any attempted transactions outside of those hours will be declined.
Operational hours can be configured on the Default Policy for the account, and also on the Policy for a Tag (representing a subset of cards). If a card is assigned to a Tag, the Tag Policy will override the Default Policy.
Merchant Restrictions
The ‘Merchant Restrictions’ feature allows fleets to set merchant allow- and block-lists.
- Whitelisting a merchant adds them to the Allow-list, which means all transactions at that merchant will be allowed (regardless of category rules below)
- Blacklisting a merchant adds them to the Block-list, which means all transactions at that merchant will be declined (regardless of category rules below)
Merchant Restrictions can be configured on the Default Policy for the account, and also on the Policy for a Tag (representing a subset of cards). If a card is assigned to a Tag, the Tag Policy merchant restrictions will override the Default Policy merchant restrictions.
Category-Based Purchase Restrictions
Purchase category restrictions allow you to designate what non-fuel categories are allowed or not allowed for purchase. Any attempted transaction of a restricted category will be denied.
By default, your card is only available for use with fuel, but you can choose to allow any of the categories in the second image below.
Category restrictions can be configured on the Default Policy for the account, and also on the Policy for a Tag (representing a subset of cards). If a card is assigned to a Tag, the Tag Policy will override the Default Policy.
Card Security and Telematics
PINs at the pump can be unreliable and potentially expose you to unauthorized transactions if someone gets the PIN. Card Unlock security is controllable from your end and our end, rather than the merchant. Drivers text to unlock the card, or unlock with their app, and if they are in a low signal area you can turn it off until their next stop.
Telematics protects you by making sure the driver is actually with their truck and not some other vehicle. It can be configured to block, send you alerts, or you can choose to disable it.
