Set Up AtoB Premium Features

Card Unlock

When enabled:

1. Your card(s) is locked and cannot be used
2. To unlock, your driver needs to text the AtoB Unlock number with the last 4 digits of the card. The AtoB Unlock number is 1-650-360-0027
3. The card will be unlocked for 30 minutes and can be used. It will automatically revert to locked after 30 minutes.

Enabling Card Unlock

From the Cards tab in your AtoB portal, select the card for which you want to enable SMS unlock. Then turn the toggle on. 

Verifying Your Drivers’ Phone Numbers

In the Drivers tab, add your driver’s cell phone number. They will receive a text message prompting them to verify that number.

Their number will be automatically verified if we are able to successfully send them the text message. Your driver does not need to do anything to verify their number.

Unlocking your AtoB Card

When Card Unlock is enabled, your AtoB card will be locked by default and drivers will need to unlock the card.

In order to unlock, your drivers will need to text the last 4 digits of the AtoB card to our Card unlock number (650-360-0027).

AtoB then confirms that the phone number the text is sent from matches a verified phone number from one of your drivers. The card will be unlocked for 30 minutes only if we are able to confirm that the text came from one of your verified drivers.

After 30 minutes, the card will automatically revert to locked.

Enhanced Security by Assigning a Card to a Driver

You can further secure your card by assigning a specific driver to your card. With this assignment enabled, only that assigned driver can unlock the card. In that case, AtoB will confirm that the number the text is sent from matches the verified phone number of the assigned driver.

Enhanced Security by Enabling Unlock with Vehicle ID (VIN)

Another security enhancement is available by requiring drivers to provide the last 6 digits of the vehicle’s VIN before the card is unlocked. When a driver attempts to unlock a card, they will be prompted to share the last 6 digits of the VIN. AtoB will confirm that the information entered matches with any of the vehicle VIN’s in your fleet.

If this is paired with telematics integration, we can additionally check that the vehicle for which the vehicle VIN is entered by the driver is within 100 meters of the merchant location.
